Using Skype (v 7.21.0.100) and vMix (v 17.0.0.76). Skype almost freezes when vMix is running with a 46-input preset. Total CPU (i7-2600K OC to 4.2Ghz) is 50%. RAM is 4GB (out of 16GB). When I reduce the number of inputs to about 25, Skype behaves normally.
Did not have this problem before I updated Skye today.
Moral of this story... Never, ever update Skype!
Any ideas?

Tom,
I abandoned Skype long ago. I prefer to use tools the leverage WebRTC to do their magic without requiring an installed client. Many of these are pitched as virtual meeting services, since that's a path to a revenue stream. Have you tried Talky.io? or Jitsi Video Bridge? Both give your point-to-point video calling using just Chrome.

Michael,
Thanks for the quick reply. I agree about Skype vs. WebRTC, but if something is broken in the kitchen, it might affect the rest of the house, if you get my drift.

A CPU with hyperthreading might be at it's max at 50%, as Windows sees 8 threads used for 50%, while the 4 cores are 100% used. If you disable HT, you can monitor resources better when you have a problem.
