Hello everyone.

Thanks in advance for your help with vMix.
I am new to the vMix community and just starting out with vMix Basic.
Excited about getting into HD and more in the future.

For now I am running into an issue that I have a feeling has come up many times before.
I did research for it except I did not find it, so please point me to a post if it already exists.

When I transition from Source 1 to Source 2 the screen squashes during the Fade transition and then pops back.
I have the 'Output Aspect Ratio' set to 'Anamorphic' as I am testing with movies I own in mp4 formats.

So that is an issue and I also have a question.
I am trying to create 'Cues' inside videos. Either start points or loops(Start and End Points).
Do I need to create new sources for every video cue or is there a way to have a Master Clip with several cue points and loop points predefined?
I was thinking of the way a PTZ camera has a Master Camera and then a bunch of Set Locations(Zooms and Pans) that you can switch between.

Thanks again everyone for your help.

Rich,

Welcome to vMix! Glad to have you here on the forum, too.

First, regarding the Squished transition... try using Normal, Source, or Widescreen in place of Anamorphic and report back the results.

The, help us understand what you mean by Cues. That's a term generally used in describing a Feature or Function in vMix.

Will Do.
It is weird as it doesn't always happen. I had smooth seamless transitions one time and I have no idea what I did or didn't do.
I have a feeling when I am switching between applications the issue comes up.

I will try to record what happens so everyone can visually see it as that makes more sense.
Since the program allows me to easily show you what it is doing I will try to get it to happen and post on YouTube with a private link I will put here.

D'oh!!! I need to remember terms are not always terms.
I used DJ and Editing references. I create markers and cue points in those programs.

I want to take a video file and put markers on it to allow me to get to specific spots quicker.
Also by creating these markers I would like to Loop the Video from one point to another.
I know I can set the start and end markers on a single clip.
Don't want to have to clone a video 10 times with 10 different start points and loops if I can avoid that.
Oh side note I am using the basic version so only 4 things right now.
It is funny the limitation of only 4 things gives you ideas of how you can do much more.
Also makes it easier to program my controller, less options, heheh.

Thanks again for the help.

I had a chance to do a quick video, no audio.
I am playing with Images and the one I used of the clouds I took and overlayed the 3 things I could, I am using the Basic Edition with 4 objects(Not the proper term) - If you have more than 4 objects you can overlay up to 4 on the Image.
I did not show the that when I overlay the Image all of the Image overlays drop and just the image shows up.

Here is the unlisted YouTube URL -

I took the video into Sony Vegas to cut some of the extra black and I also re-compressed.
In this video you will see the squash switch I was discussing.
I did not go into the setting and switch things around.

Thanks again for your help.

I have been using the software a lot recently and I have not been seeing this issue.
I have a feeling it is a conflict between the Master Source(Widescreen or other) and the clip source(Normal or other).

It is not really an issue for me right now as I think I have the settings dialed in now.

Thanks again everyone.
