I'm having a problem with vMix Desktop Capture NDI 17.0.0.55, yesterday I could change the settings in the Audio and the Maximum Frame Rate boxes but today when I try to change the settings nothing happens, I go into settings change the audio and frame rate settings then click on the OK button then I go back into the settings and the settings are still the same as before, for instance I change the frame rate from 60 to 25 click OK then go back in and it still says 60 it is the same problem for the audio settings too.

Is this a bug?

Thanks.

Try downloading the latest version of vMix 17 from the main thread as there have been a couple of updates recently.

Hi,

I am using the latest version of vMix 17 and I have just updated to the latest vMixDesktopCaptureNDI 17.0.0.59 for windows and I am still getting the same problem, I start the app go into the settings and try to change the audio source and frame rate and it does not change, I have even tried clicking on the show cursor box and it does not show the cursor, when I go bank into the setting nothing has changed.

What am I going wrong?

Here is the vMix Desktop Capture Log

A quick search of Google for the error 88890017 and WASAPI shows up a couple of threads
saying it could be CPU related.

That is to say WASAPI audio devices can't be created while the system is under heavy load.
What sort of computer is it, and is Windows and drivers all up to date etc?

Yes sorry I should have told you that I am using a Laptop, its a Compaq CQ58 Notebook with windows 8.1 64bit the CPU is a AMD E1-1200 APU with AMD Radeon HD 7310 Graphics, 6gb of ram, AMD high def audio, the laptop does have AVG anti virus on it but I turned that off to test, but as I said in my first post vMixDesktopCaptureNDI did work a couple of days ago with no problems.

edit: all drivers are up to date.

Check the CPU usage of everything in Task Manager, maybe there is a background process that is using high CPU and therefore is preventing
the audio from starting in the vMix Desktop Capture.

I have taken a look at the CPU usage and I cannot find anyhthing that would be causing this problem.

As I said 3 days ago it was working fine, I havent installed anything over the past week.

I understand, however all I can go on is the error message Windows is telling the vMix Desktop Capture app, so not much I can do to fix it
until you are able to figure out what might be using up CPU on the system and in particular the audio.
thanks 1 user thanked admin for this useful post.

Hi

I was looking through the web today regarding the vMixDesktopNDI error and I came across these two websites, As Im not up on this sought of stuff could these two programmes help with my problem, if not I thought the programmes looked quite interesting for streaming.

See below for links to both these sites:
TuneBlade

TuneAero

Regards.

Update,

I have soughted the problem out, it's nothing to do with audio errors at all and I don't know why this would make any difference as I am the administrator of my Laptop.

I decided to run vMixDesktopNDI as Administrator and hey presto it worked, I can know change the audio, frame rate and show cursor boxes.
