I just purchase the vMix Basic HD license. Best video mixer in the market.

However, I am having problem with the newly arrived BMD DeckLink Quad.

Therefore, I would like the seek guidance here on how to setup vMix properly to use this card.

Blanking and blinking issue of BMD DeckLink Quad.
?hd=1

Notice that with 1 input, the video is okay.
When the 2nd input is added, both input 1 and 2 started to blink alternately.
When the 3rd input is added, both input 1 and 2 started to go blank/black and input 3 starts to blink.
When the inputs are removed, the same behaviour is seen.

Tested with vMix 2012 x64 (7.0.45) and also the x32 version

with 3 HD-SDI inputs from

Blackmagic Design DeckLink Quad (driver 9.6.1.0; dated 20-July-2012)

running on

Windows 7 64bit Professional

Tested with WireCast 4.1.4 similar issue.

Anyone knows how to solve this issue? It the card faulty?

Hi,

What motherboard are you using?
I've seen this in cases where the motherboard has a PCI-E x4 slot but for whatever reason some of that bandwidth is being taken up
by other slots or by built in devices (such as GigE Lan etc)

If there is more than one PCI-E x4, x8 or x16 slot available try it there instead.

I would also be interested in knowing the motherboard model as I can note that in our records in case other users experience some issues.

Regards,

Martin

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I guess you are right about the bandwidth issue.

Quote:
Motherboard Asus Intel P8Z77-V

Expansion Slots
2 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16 or dual x8) *3
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black)
2 x PCIe 2.0 x1 *4
2 x PCI

Note:
*3: PCIe 3.0 speed is supported by Intel® 3rd generation Coreā„¢ processors.
*4: The PCIe x1_2 shares bandwidth with SATA6G_E12. SATA6G_E12 is enabled by default for system resource optimization.

I solved the issue.
Initially, the DeckLink Quad was install on the PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black) slot.
Then, I removed it and install on the PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16 or dual x8).
After that, no more blanking or blinking issue.

[Asus did not mention that the PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black) slot is sharing bandwidth with other components.]

Although the intial problem is solved, the SDI video looks not smooth.

Since it is another issue, I will start a new thread.
