triggering external 2 to display an different input

Hi, We've got 2 studio's where we have floormonitors to display video. Because the hosts are not very experienced presentors for camera, they don't want to see themselfs on screen. But i get the request to show the video in the studio when we play one. Now i can put 1 video to be on external 2 but if there are multiple clips, it's not handy to switch during a live event to show them all. I tried to put an trigger on a clip: on transistion in - SetOutputExternal2 - Clipname. But nothing happens. But If I make an shortcut with the same function and input, External 2 does show the input. Anybody got experience with this? Have you considered using the "List" Input for your video clips?
Then there would be no need to alter the feed to "External 2", it's just a matter of selecting the appropriate video from the list.
