Check this out, I only just found out the SKAARHOJ panels can control VMIX! SKAARHOJ is really good because they can customise the panel to suit your application (eg. even put volume controls etc on the panel). I am guessing that they are using the API. You can see the range of their controllers here; http://skaarhoj.com/products/overview/

Which panels can be used? Most seem to be ATEM oriented. Any idea on pricing?

They are built to order. You provide them with the spec you want (either ATEM or VMIX or anything else you want).
You can even ask them to customise the hardware or software for you (extra charge) (add an extra button, even control something completely different).
The pricing is down the bottom of each product page. Every product should have a price there.

Why to buy this kind of stuff when you can control everything with shortcuts on keyboard :)
This is only good (I saw a video of one small controller) when there is one man on camera and have some recording machine and for example one fixed camera so he can press Rec and switch between two cameras from controller on tripod.

If you are doing a mission-critical production, with say, dancing, 7 cameras, and lots of graphics it is a LOT easier to do it on a proper switching surface.
Eg I do a show which involves dancing each year, we have 5 operators in the control room.
- 1 Director - 1 person doing the computer(vmix) related tasks like queuing up graphics etc. - 1 person with a multiview monitor and a control surface. - 1 director - 1 audio operator. - 1 lighting guy.
In previous years we have done it on an ATEM and this year we want to use VMIX.
But having said all that, I have done a lot of live streams by myself.
