Hey there! I am currently configuring a customized PC system for the go.
Capture card is going to be the Yuan SC510N4 via HDMI. Cameras used are Dslrs & Gopro 3/4 (4 inputs) 1080p
This are the Hardware components i selected :
CPU: Intel Core i5-4590, 4x 3.30GHz Mainboard: ASUS Z97-PRO Storage: Samsung SSD 850 Pro 256GB GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 750 Ti WindForce 2X OC, 4GB RAM: 8GB-Kit Crucial Ballistix Sport Series DDR3-1600, CL9 Power: be quiet! Pure Power L8 CM 630 Watts
The plan is to fit all the components into a Case like a Pleicase, or somekinda Alu-Case.
Question : Do you think the hardware is powerful enough for streaming and capturing running Vmix?
Thanks in Advance!

My advice, if you are making something like this, go right away on i7 CPU send pics and everything when you finish the project

Thanks for your reply! So you think i should choose a i7 model, 6 or 8 cores? And yes i will post pictures as soon as the system is ready, still have to wait for the capture card.

Memory at 8GB may be a little light. Also, consider a GTX 8xx or 9xx graphic card. You will have more headroom for 4 x 1080p.
On the I7 CPU - 6 cores is a nice pricepoint vs the 8 cores.

That Yuan card may not work on that modern chipset motherboard. Beware, there are posts about this, and we have one that will only work in older motherboards. The Magwells work very well.

I've been pondering a new system for use with vMix, amongst other things. While a laptop would be nice, I'm just not satisfied that they are potent enough or expandable enough. However, I stumbled across the Airtop-PC from Compulab. I thought I'd seek out some opinions from vMix users. Here are the basic specs: - Intel 5th Gen Core i7-5775C Processor @3.3 GHz - Intel C226 chipset (Lynx Point) - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 Graphics Card (3x DP 1.2, 1x HDMI 2.0) - 2x GbE LAN ports (Intel) - 4X 2.5" SATA 3.0 slots for storage (SSD/HDD) - 1x M.2 2280 M-key slot - 1x mSATA slot - RAID 0/1/5/10 support - Up to 32 GB DDR3-1600 - Dual external power supplies It's small, fanless and completely silent. It's accept one PCIe card, which would be great for a capture card. I'm impressed with how they've engineered the device. It's not cheap, but I think it might be a good hybrid between a bulk desktop and a laptop. Michael

Steve Damn, the magwells are that much more expensive.. I found out there is a newer version of that card wich supports the x99 series motherboards. thanks Dave

This device really seems nice to me, but i do not really need such a small case. I dont care travelling with flightcases. But again really cool piece of engineering! Would love to test the Airtop.. In a past life I had to travel with a lot of kit to demo broadcast graphics systems. For demo purposes we'd use things like the Shuttle SFF PCs instead of rack mount servers. The SFF boxes were more portable, but could still accept powerful video cards, etc. Many people seem to be considering laptops for vMix. I think that small for factor desktops are still a better option. The i7 that you get in a laptop just isn't the same class of processor as the desktop variant. It also happens that I like fanless, silent systems. I see that the Airtops are available for order now, and some discounted form their MSRP. They now offer an i7 model with GT750Ti vs GT950. Still, they're not cheap. I'm torn. Michael
