Hello all :-)

I have a question , as I often turn production with four cameras and recording Prores and stream 1080p is my CPU all the way to the 80/90 %.

Is it possible to combine the CPU and the GPU vmix in that, for example , the CPU does register the cameras. And the GPU controls recording on the SSD and the stream ?

because only turns to me but my CPU ( i7 ) and my GPU (MSI GTX 970) do I think there is little work.

Thank you in advance ;-)

Greetings Mike Foppen from the Netherlands

Try using different different video formats, h264, MJPEG and YUY2 bothe use different devices for rendering, forgot which is which though.

vMix uses a combination of the GPU and the CPU all ready. Streaming via FMLE or FFMPEG utilises the CPU mainly. Some capture cards will also use the CPU as will the recording function. If your CPU is hitting such high numbers you need to look at what else is running on the PC using CPU resources. ProRes is only used with the FFMPEG recorder. You might need to look at the settings you are using with it to lower the load or use another codec.

I think that streaming also uses the GPU because I was getting a lot of dropped frames and rtbuffer full messages with a GT520. Just upgrading to at GTx750TI has fixed it completely.

The formal advice from the support team was to upgrade the card. I did and its working great.
