I did a search and didn't find any threads regarding this wireless midi controller. I figured this would be an awesome tool to perform remote switching and macros instead of a web interface from a tablet or phone. Just wondered if anyone has used it in the real world yet. This is a game changer for the solo person. And it's less than $40 Numark Orbit Wireless Handheld MIDI Controller with Built-In Accelerometer https://www.amazon.com/d...w_r_cp_awd_OvcNwb8484XDR

Looks indeed very nice! even for a production where more persons are involved, this could be a game changer. I can imagine myself using it a but more laid back in a chair, and mixing a whole concert like I was playing a playstation game.
I guess it should work, since it's a normal midi device :)

Update: Connected the Wireless Midi and was able to control 4 cameras and increment a scoreboard title using the SHORTCUTS on vMix from the other side of the house. The unit says it has a working distance of 100 ft. This will come in handy when I'm the only person running the camera and production work. The device has its own wireless USB adapter so I don't have to rely on network connection (Web Control). I now have 2 choices to perform remote switching now :) Note: The keys are all mapped to the same channel straight from the box. You will need to use the Midi Configuration Tool "Numark Orbit Editor" and re-map the keys to their own channel. This was driving me nuts at first when I mapped to Vmix and all keys registered the same channel on Vmix. After using the "Numark Orbit Editor", I assigned each button a separate channel and was finally good to go. The unit also has a strap on the back so you can literally wear it as a giant watch on your forearm or hang it on your neck live a big watch similar to Flavor Flav.. haha Watch it in action here -> [img][/img] mavrick816 attached the following image(s): Capture.JPG (68kb) downloaded 4 time(s). numark-orbit-namm-2013-header.jpg (54kb) downloaded 4 time(s). Can you use it while loading the battery over usb? We sometimes do 20 hour broadcasts, and the battery is stated to work 8 hours.

Good question. I just tried it while connected to a USB charger and it works while its charging :) Ittaidv wrote:Can you use it while loading the battery over usb? We sometimes do 20 hour broadcasts, and the battery is stated to work 8 hours.

It seems to recharge fairly quickly. The USB cord is on the short side, you may want to use a USB extension. But overall, I like it, wireless makes it very handy.
