Hello,
I'm researching the best graphics card to use with my new build. I've searched this forum and haven't really seen any comparison or performance results for NVIDIA GPUs. Has anyone upgraded their graphics card and how much of a difference as part of the upgrade?
Looking into how much processing is actually being offset with the better GPUs.
My build in progress: HP Workstations Z230 (400 watt power supply) Windows 7 Pro i7 4790 CPU 32gb RAM 500gb SSD (OS and Apps) 500gb SSD (Recording) (1) Magewell HD-SDI Capture Card (2) BM DeckLink Mini Recorder (HDMI/SD) (Onboard Intel4600 Graphic Display) NVIDIA750 (ASUS GeForce GTX750-PHOC-1GD) - Single Slot

Here's a link to a GPU benchmarking website. I has all of the various GPUs listed. Not really sure how their numbers compare to realworld use of vMix, but it is a place to start. GPU Benchmark Link

Thanks Kevin. I received my Nvidia 750 and compared the stream and record function. Here are some eyeball comparisons: Running the latest Vmix(1/12/16) 1) Playing 720p MP4 2) 720p Streaming 3) 1920x1780 Recording Intel 4600 (Onboard) ~75% to 85% CPU Utilization Nvidia 750 (New) ~65% to 75% CPU Utilization Summary: I only saw a slight 10% decrease in overall CPU when I moved from the onboard 4600 GPU to NVIDIA 750. I also adjusted the CPU to MAX on the NVIDIA. Are there any other adjustments? Kelvin wrote:Here's a link to a GPU benchmarking website. I has all of the various GPUs listed. I bumped up from a GTX660 to a GTX970, and honestly didn't see much of a performance gain. The primary benefit for me however was going from 2GB to 4GB of graphics memory storage. Gave me a little more headroom for processing graphics in blender, or video conversion.
Really not seeing a difference with VMix and my current load of inputs. Perhaps if I had more I would.
