Hi all,
I'm looking at purchasing either vMix Go or Thunder for our organisation and just want to check the following before going any further -
Looking through the tutorials it seems as if vMix will do all that we need but I can't find a specific answer to rolling titles (I think you would refer to these as a 'ticker'). I see that vMix will do a ticker and that the content speed of the scroll can be edited easily. I need the ability to be able to scroll through a list of up to possibly 200 names as a bottom third but advance the names manually, is this possible?
It would be ideal if the list of names could be inserted into the bottom third via an external app such as powerpoint triggered by a separate operator as we may well need to edit the names on the fly.
Will vMix be able to achieve this - does this even makes sense?
Best,

@ DerngateDave
Welcome to the forum David. Not sure I fully understand what you mean by "advance the names manually" as the 'Ticker' scrolls across the screen (as per Siroki's example) according to the time you allot for all the characters of your script or sentence to cycle through. You could set-up each name as a 'Preset' and cycle though each one manually, although that might prove to be quite tedious, but it is possible. I would recommend downloading the trial version of the software to some other computer in the organization for testing. I am quite sure there is a viable solution to your needs that vMix can provide, it just might not be straight forward or exactly as you envisage.

If I understand correctly : You want the ticker to scroll a name and easy change the name from a list if this is the case you load a ticker title and for testing you change the text to a name you want. Click the plus sign below to add that name to a list below that change to another name and again press plus to add that to the list you can now swicth between the names to be displayed in your ticker (by opening the tite editor) or right clicking on your title to get the list of names to load a longer list of names instead of typing them manually you can import them from a csv list That is the build in way you can also create an external program that has a list of all your names to choose from and instruct a httprequest to end your choosen name to the title (works too from excel for example http://www.forums.vmix.c...&m=12905#post12905). whenever you can create a httpsendrequest you are good to go in your external app. btw this applies to all titles PS I'v been choosing name from a 500+ item list to quickly display a name and detail change in title using external small program this way
