This is our wish for new vMix 17 (we brought that up for vMix 15 already but it was not realized yet):
In some sports (like ice hockey) it is very useful to have a magnifying lens. After pressing the lens button you mark an individual rectangle in preview (or even in output) window and this rectangle becomes full-screen or at least doubles or triples its size. With this magnifier you can clarify tricky situations (did the puck/ball cross the line) very easy and enhance the quality of sports production to a very professional level. You can "highlight" certain details for people watching the game on TV or internet stream like fouls, close referee decisions and so on. Would be great for halftime analysis, too.
We have a high demand for this feature in between because our customers are mainly in professional sports business. We have developed different applications where we use vMix as a professional tool for coaches and referees to improve the performance of their teams (coaches) or to assist their further education (referees). And of course our live productions on TV will also benefit from this feature.
It would be absolutely great to have a magnifying effect function of any kind.
Regards Karsten

Although, I believe you could accomplish some of this already with "Virtual Inputs" and "Zoom" adjustments, even setting up a Blank "Virtual Studio" will work, but having a definable and movable "magnifying glass" on screen at the click of a button would be pretty awesome.

This is an intriguing idea!
So I have it correct, would the following work:
1. Hold down some configured key on the keyboard 2. Mouse cursor changes allowing you to hold down the mouse button to draw a red rectangle on top of the Program Output window in vMix. 3. Release the mouse button and vMix will zoom in to show just the area covered by the rectangle. 4. Press some other key to zoom out again.

@ admin
Sounds like that would be an awesome feature... Probably not a big "need" for it for most users, but I'm sure people would find all kinds of uses for it.

I think I could possible use this. It would be a software zoom, it would really help a 1 man operator who can't go to the camera and zoom it.
Not sure I would use it very often because it's not an optical zoom, but still useful to highlight something to the audience.

Yeah, Martin. There is nothing to add if it would work like this. Karsten

If the zoom speed can be set then it is also a good solution for my 'slow zoom effect' request.

Yeah, Martin. There is nothing to add if it would work like this. Karsten Just a little "add-on" to the way it works. In step 3, after release of mouse button it might be possible to control zoom-in with mouse wheel. You will have an adjustable zoom factor in little steps then. Karsten

Perhaps this should be done using Preview instead. Maybe something like:
1. Have same Input as both Preview and Active 2. In Preview, (these settings stored per Input for later use) mouse left-click and drag to define rectangle mouse left-click and drag to move rectangle mouse left-click and scroll to resize rectangle (or drag corner) mouse right-click to select color & width of rectangle, zoom speed, recall settings or clear all 3. Any Transition 4. When in Output, mouse double left-click to zoom at speed set in/out mouse left-click and scroll to manually zoom in/out 5. When transitioned out from both Preview and Output make sure for that Input is zoom 100% remove zoom rectangle (but retain settings stored)
