After working a few hours with vMix we were ready to start our live broadcasting. We have 4 people living in a 'glass house' at the back of a bar collecting money for ALS. They make radio 24/7. The action will last 4 days and ends on December 30, 9PM (Dutch time). For those (Dutchies) who know it, it is similar to 3FM Serious Request Our organization is called "Alles voor ALS" which means "everything for ALS", meaning all and every effort into collecting money for the ALS foundaition. Anyway, we're using vMix to switch between the cameras and send the stream to Youtube. I created Twitter feed in Flash which is combined with an SMS feed. (Ordered by time). People can request music using these media. ADditionally there is a news ticker where the inhabitants can enter news headlines. vMix is great software which makes this all so easy to do! I just need to understand the XAML files. You can view the stream here: It's all in Dutch so perhaps not understandable for the majority here, but I think it would be nice if they get support from around the world using Twitter and hashtag #AllesVoorALS :)

We're using Messagebird (Dutch company) to receive and send SMS messages. They post data to a URL when an SMS is received. This URL is a PHP script. The posted data is stored in a database and output via another URL in JSON format (the feed). This feed is then read by Flash in Actionscript 3.

Nice production, how do you deal with music on youtube? They don't block your feed?

Two benefit blues evenings with 3 groups per evening. Proceeds for ALS (afd Groningen). We have another two events in the planning. We streamed via Concert Windows using Vmix. Was my first use of Vmix and quite a learning curve. We should get our heads together.

That's nice. But you say "our village hall", yet your location says Wales? :)
What do you mean with "We should get our heads together."? Do you need help with vMix? Because even though I found the basics fairly easy to understand, I'm not an expert ;)

If you want to 'get heads together' by contributing / teaming up you can always contact the organisation here: http://www.glazenhuisgramsbergen.nl/#contact. I'm only volunteering by helping with all the technical stuff. We actually looking for 2 new volunteers to organise the event. This year we raised €51.794,97 for ALS. This was made possible by many individuals who raised money with various actions. You're free to support us with your action and bring a cheque to boost the totals ;)
