Hi,

In a few days I need to do some 24/7 live stream broadcasting for 4 days for charity.
This software is a gift from heaven _O_ because I was writing my own software (Java) to display some cameras and perform simple tasks, until I stumbled upon vMix while searching for some fix that I needed.
After a download and quick look it seemed to have everything I need. Why didn't I find this a year ago? :D

Anyway, I have 2 evenings to learn the software. I viewed some tutorials which are great, easy and understanding!
Still, I'm having 2 questions (sorry if they are redundant):

1. I would like to automatically switch between cameras periodically.
At day, when there are lots of people, I would like to use camera 1,2,3,4 and 5.
At evenings/night, when there are less people around, I'd like only to use camera 1 and 2.

Preferably, they should switch every N minutes. Is this possible using a playlist/list? (Reference: http://www.vmix.com/know...vmix-support-scheduling)
I don't mind doing some stuff manually, but I rather not sit there 24/7 myself to click buttons to switch cameras.
Any leads on where to start?

2. People can send SMS messages which I would like to display on screen in an overlay.
Is it possible to implement a custom feed? Will Flash do (I know AS3), or is network access disabled somehow when it's embedded in vMix?
Any hints on this?
I saw some custom plugin/add-on for loading weather into an overlay and I assume it's written in .NET. But unfortunately I don't know .NET.

Basically, the idea is this:
1 - Logo in top left corner
2 - Continuous feed of Twitter with latest tweets at bottom as overlay (tested, works)
2a - Mix twitter feed with a custom SMS feed?
3 - If mix with SMS (2a) isn't possible, an extra custom overlay with SMS somewhere below the twitter bar would suffice.
4 - If 3 is possible, I might as well create an overlay which combines both Twitter and SMS.
5 - There is a continuous audio stream from a different source, the cameras don't have sound
6 - The audio might need syncing with video because it is delayed
7 - I have 5 cameras. I'd like them to 'loop change' automagically, so people in the stream can see the event from various points of view.
8 - It should be broadcast to YouTube (tested, works)

Is my idea possible? Are there any caveats I have to deal with? I'm using the 60 day trial.
Any help/tips is welcome.

Thank you

@ rsuper

Welcome to the vMix Forum.
You are certainly on the right track with the "Playlist" feature for autoswitching. Some related posts that might help:

The best advise for vMix is to "play" with it and learn the "power" within.
I am not as familiar with vMix Social and it's "UpDate" and SMS abilities but I believe most everything else that you want to do is possible.
The forum is a great place to glean knowledge and share ideas, although, not always timely with a response when you are desperate and on a deadline, so you are best to test and experiment as much as possible before going "Live"...

Great, thanks for the links.

I'm at work now, but had a peek and saw some something about scripting and camera cycling. Very promising!
I'll check it out tonight and I might spend a Christmas day in solitude to buy myself an extra day of experience with the software.
