Anyone who can recommend a cheap wireless intercom system?
We need one in the near future, both for studio and event broadcasting. We're using walkies now, which work very well, but audio quality is not always good on them.
I was checking the monoprice cheap wireless 2.4 ghz mics, which can go 2 way, but i'm not sure if we can connect multiple sets to 1 base station.

@ Ittaidv The "cheapest" solution I have heard about is using a wireless telephone set-up. (courtesy Tom Sinclair, I think, aka sinc747) http://forums.vmix.com/d....aspx?g=posts&t=2870I've never tried it but it seems reasonable and decent brands and accessory headset kits are readily available at most electronic stores. Worth looking into at any rate. Ice

Wirelles router (e.g. linksys WRT54GL with openWRT) + uMurmur VoIP server for OpenWRT router. On other side Android phone + Mumble (VoIP client). Very cheap and practically.

How reliable would this be in a conference room where wifi is set up and all kinds of wireless signals are going on you think? I already checked out some 2.4 ghz systems, but i'm a bit afraid of dropouts on critical moments.
