Regularly I want to freeze a desktop capture input to preserve a beamer message for broadcasting while the beamer operator already shows another message for the screen in the church hall. Most hardware video mixers have this option. In vMix this could be achieved with a right-click option on the concerning input window.

+1, or rather as an extended Snapshot functionality.
Ideallt the Snapshot shortcut would allow what to snap, for backwards compatibility default to Output. But we would really find it useful if any Input could be used instead. In addition it would be nice if a right-click on the footer bar's Snapshot icon allowed the operator to select what should be snapped in a similar way. Again default to Output, but also to alternatively select any Input.

+1 for simple quick freeze input button.
In my case good to freeze a PowerPoint computer input so I can edit the PPT then unfreeze when it is updated.

+1 Systems like PDS oder Image Pro have this option. As a example, we loop the presentation thru the Barco PDS and ingest it with 1080p50 in the vMix system. The live stream will start mostly 30 minutes before the event start. In mostly all cases want the customer to switch between the slides until 5 minutes before event-start. In this case would be a freeze option very welcome.

We are in a similar situation with a powerpoint laptop next to VMix (captured as HDMI input). Most of the time people are still checking or changing slides until right before the start of the event. The powerpoint presentation is part of several multiviews and therefore making a snapshot of that input would still require replacing the real input with the still image in all of the multiviews. Another case would be the need to quickly change powerpoint presentations or fix a mistake in a presentation while keeping the slides visible to the viewer along side a camera image for example. Then you could just freeze the input from the powerpoint laptop and use the laptop to do what needs to be done and still continue to use the normal multiviews and preset that are used during the normal show. I hope my examples where easy to understand and showed why a snapshot capture from the input might not always work, since I dont want to replace the whole output with a still image.

One work-around if you're using NDI-based screen capture (or any other NDI source that you want to freeze) is to route it via the Zen RTx (re-transmit) app, which includes a Freeze function.

+1. Having this as an option would free up GPU processing power if a production has cameras that are only used for parts of a broadcast. Adding shortcuts\triggers to this feature would allow for camera inputs to be enabled\disabled via scripts\activators with segment intros and outros.

Need this option again and again. I've made a virtual input from the NDI projector PC input and can do anything with it like zoom in etc. But can't freeze it. So when the next slide is presented my edited picture is gone.
Vmix really should have this basic feature!
These kind of things are needed on the fly so a work-around is no option.

Guillaume We don't need snapshots. We need freeze function for inputs and outputs. And yes, we know there are workarounds... ;-)
