Hello,

Please find some ideas for this new versions :

- Possible to have the Start/Stop record butttons in the web interface + 1 feedback in the interface to confirm the status of recording
- Possible to have the preview of the output in the web interface (with low framerate if necessary...)
- Possible to chose differents PRESET in the web interface

All of this would be very useful for me :)

I've seen a couple of suggestions on improving the way a recording status displays in the main interface.

My understanding is that most people are looking for a way to see if a recording is not in progress but what I am not so certain
on is how customers would like that to be displayed. Any input would be helpful.

Screenshot of the new video delay input for those interested:

Record: Toggle updating on/off
1x: Set the playback speed
60: Set the number of seconds to save when clicking save.
Save: Saves the last x seconds to file and then loads it as separate input.

Hi Martin,

Nice shot!

Will it automaticlly load as a new input or can you adjust that via a setting?

Dear Martin,

I have a Dell multitouch ST2220T monitor.

One small change request,

1. Touch the Preview Window to take the preview to Program/Output Window.

Example: Touch Screen to change inputs

Reason: Touching the Quick Play, Cut, Fade buttons is difficuilt since they are a little small.

Many thanks if it can be implemented.

Regards,
Donny

Looking good. As an addition an "Autoload" ON/OFF button or checkbox would be useful. Sometimes we will create tens of delay recordings that will be loaded via video list. As an additional option, a checkbox for video list input "Automatically reload video from folder" could be introduced.

hi martin,

what about a master frame limiter feature? in my case, it is very important to limit every source or the "program" for live streaming at 25fps.

thank you for attention, regards

I was wondering if next vMix version will support 32 GB RAM for multiple video delays. We are putting together a new system and I want to make sure that we do it properly.
Also is there any reason to buy dedicated graphic adapter if we experience 2-4 ms render time with integrated intel hd graphics?

Another thing Im wondering about is that in my experience there are cases when vMix hangs either due to unstable video codec, driver or just some unexpected bug. The worst case is the community experiencing the problem but not being able to explain it to Martin and Martin not being able to replicate it. And the "risk to crash and destroy the broadcast or recording" stays.

It would be a major step forward in terms of problem solving responsiveness and improving stability if there was an interface that could send vMix crash information to Martin. Perhaps even using another application, which "dumps" vMix memory or some other debug information on file.

Perhaps this feature would not require so much programming and would definately avoid some dreadful situations in the future, when we experience crash due to the same problem again and again. In my case it happens around 5% of the time, which is not a lot, but very discouraging sometimes.

Are others also experiencing such problems or am I the only "weird case"? :)

64bit video delay
The new 64bit version of vMix in v4 will support 32GB of ram for the multiple video delays.
Keep in mind though it means you will also need to have 64bit DirectShow Codecs available for your chosen recording format.
Built in MPEG-2 recording supports 64bit and so does the DeckLink MJPEG Encoder.

Intel HD Graphics
I haven't tested the latest intel hd graphics, the new HD 4000 looks promising. The best test you can do is try
recording to 1920x1080 and see what the render time is then.

Stability
As for stability, v4 includes numerous improvements in that regard including:

* Fix for vMix freezing due to the Windows desktop changing
* Workaround for bad audio drivers providing incorrect timecode leading to either a recording without audio or a "codec not responding error".

Internal testing has started for v4 and it is now feature locked!
The following features will be included in addition to what has already been mentioned:

* Desktop Capture now includes a PNG format option for customers wishing to use colour keying.
* New deinterlacing method that preserves full motion added alongside existing option. Requires recording at 50/60fps.
* vMix Audio Capture can be configured either as 44.1khz or 48khz

Martin

Havent got to any testing of 50i, but please make sure that this works not only when recording a video file. We also need it for using with:
1. external output in vMix (to be used with FMLE)
2. for live video capture sources (usb hauppauge live2 in pal mode and blackmagic cards in 576i mode)

So I guess it's too late (sorry, I didn't see this topic early enough), but here is what would be interesting to me in a future version :-) :

- main need : a fade-to-black FADER (or a "master video" fader, better said), that could be used to adjust exactly the fade out time and curve to the live show (I tried to use vMix to playback videos with live musicians, and could not do exactly what I wanted with the "fade" buttons, nor the crossfade fader not so easy to manipulate (for instance, it is very difficult to maintain it very close to the end of his course without switching completely to the 2nd video / and no possibility to fade to black just for a short time and then show the video again));
... and MIDI support to manipulate this fader (and some "Quick play" buttons or other functions if possible) from a control surface. That would be really, really great !

- other but less important needs, regarding video files playback (not live inputs) :
* ability to adjust the playback speed;
* ability to define cue points, and to jump to them
=> once again for "live" shows, when you have to re-synchronize the video with the music played by live musicians.

Anyway, thank you for all what is already implemented, and for the new version coming !

Hi,
I know it's locked but I want a place to make my wish offical.

I don't even know if this is possible with just software....

Hows about a built in mix minus for Skype?

For the UI, when "On Air" make bad buttons small & hard to hit & "good buttons" bigger.

My suggestion is a feature different from the delay. It could be called "recording for replay." Where I could mark the start and stop recording and "Vmix" auto-load for me to use this sequence to replay. Example: penalts football game. If I do not check the stop recording, "Vmix" uses the timeout setting to complete the file. The replays are saved in sequence and I can select one at a time and send to replay window. In the replay window I select the playback speed.

Mauro.

Hi Mauro,

That feature is already being added to v4 (have a read through some of the posts above regarding the video delay).
The new feature allows the user to save 10,20,30 or 60 seconds of the video delay to a separate video input for playback at a later time.

Martin

Hi Martin, I suggest that you separate the speed of the effect buttons. Fade is using three buttons (fade, fade-x1, fade-x2). Thus, the speed could be assigned to all effects. There is a template in the "title" that shows the time. Its you create a template with timer for competitions of time?
