Hello Martin, after after a few months I decided to try again vMix. Unfortunately not everything went well ... There are many problems for the use that I do. The setup is this:

Asus P8P67 WAS Revolution
Intel i5 2310
8Gb RAM (Dual Channel 4x2) Corsair
HDD 500 GB Seagate SATA 6Gb / s
nVidia GeForce GTS450 1GB DDR5
4 x BlackMagic Intensity Pro
Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit

input:
1 - SONY AX-2000 connected via HDMI to Blackmagic Intensity Pro (1)
1 - SONY V1 connected via Composite to Blackmagic Intensity Pro (2)
1 - JVC 110 ProHD connected via Composite to Blackmagic Intensity Pro (3)

output:
1 - External CRT monitor connected via Composite to Blackmagic Intensity Pro (4)

record on file with Decklink MJPEG codec

and these are some problems I found, I hope you can help me:

1 - recording stops by itself randomly, with error "codec has stopped working". This happens after 1 minute or after 30 or after 2 hours. I have to click OK and restart recording. I tried different codecs and happens to everyone. Now I use MJPEG deckling because that's what gives me better results in terms of video quality. This of course does not go so well because I lose my job. In this specific case I solved it using a DVD recorder but I'd rather have a file on which to work.

2 - vMix freezes. During an event, vMix is frozen and the recording file is unreadable. It is a recording of 2 hours and 38 minutes (63 Gb) that SHOULD recover in some way. How can I do?

I stop for now because the list is quite long, but these are the two most serious problems. When I tried vMix few months ago was much more stable in my opinion. I also bought it because I wanted to buy a dedicated PC vMix full. But because there are these problems, I look for now.

Regards

Hi,

Sorry about the issues you have been happening. They are certainly not normal and can be fixed.

1. First of all, what version of vMix were you running?

2. What audio device did you select for the recordings?
If this is not the vMix Virtual Audio Capture then this is usually the cause of 99% of "codec has stopped responding" errors.

3. What is the CPU usage like during the recordings? vMix shouldn't be using that much but it is possible something else in the background is.

4. What Intensity Pro driver version do you have installed?

Thanks,

Martin
