I can't find instructions on how to record to the removable drives. Vmix seems to default to the built-in drive. How do you direct Vmix as to where to record the Program and ISO files?

Have a look at the "Record" settings (cog wheel beside the 'Record' button along the bottom of the window of the GUI)
You should be able to set-up the drive and folder you want to record to there.
Typically, you need to (and should) establish that whenever you want to record, especially to an external drive.
For best performance, you'll also want to insure you have the fastest 'Read/Write' and transfer speeds possible.

Thanks for the input Ice. When I use the "Record" settings cog the Recording Setup window does open, and I do see the many settings I have access to, however, when using the Browse option to locate the removable drives to record to I can't find them anywhere. I know the removable drive is connected and working because I see it via the Device Manager. Where would I find the drive via the Browse option in the Recording Setup window?

Strange indeed...
Are you able to load or add a video input into vMix from your external drive?
If so, it should be a similar path for the "Record" set-up option.

Is the drive formatted? Does it show in Windows Explorer?

It does show up in the Windows Device Manager and the DM says it is running correctly. How should it be formatted for use with Vmix??
FYI - I am running Windows 8.1 and Vmix 15. However someone suggested upgrading to Windows 10 and Vmix 16. I'm not sure if that is necessary to solve the problem or a good idea.

Hi,

To format the drive for use with the system, search for "format" in the start menu and select the "Create and format hard disk partitions"
option.

This should allow to initialise and format the drive ready for use.

The defaults (NTFS) should all be fine.
