Hi Martin,

Are we to treat these versions of 16.?.?.? updates as Previews or Final Releases?

Thanks

They are all bug fixes of the final release and are not test versions or previews.

Not a huge issue, but the installer does not shut Skype down on Win10. The workaround is to quit Skype then retry.

Hi Martin,

discovered the following behaviour/bug in instant replay:
If I right click an event and choose delete, the event disapears after clicking YES on the upcoming window. But: it also disappears when I click NO 😉

Unfortunately I can confirm this bug or misbehaviour. The files are really gone no matter whether you click YES or NO. It happened during a final test yesterday so what can we do in our production this weekend? Should be fixed in next release.

hi karsten,

it's always good practice to save presets so you can fallback on a specific version. in that case you're always secure even when this bug is fixed and you hit yes but regret it...

Here is a minor bug, or rather confusing behavior, in the Streaming settings.

Wrong information is displayed in the Settings destination, url, and key if stream 2 or 3 is selected when another profile is loaded (by selecting one using the drop down menu). Those settings displayed after the Profile is loaded is always that for stream 1.

minor annoyment, when installing vMix a shortcut to vMix social is put on Window's desktop. I suggest that the installer asks if it should do so.

I can't find any documentation about vMix MIDI messages. Where is the documentation?

Thanks,

Michael

Direct MIDI messages are handled within vMix, not externally.
You use the shortcut find capability, after enabling the MIDI device in vmix, and the control you use will be the trigger in vmix.

This might be helpful.
thanks 1 user thanked madness for this useful post.

Not sure if this a bug or not.

Creating a list and then enabling auto gain control in the audio properties for the list (or any selected video within the list),
the AGC doesn't stay ticked.

Is it possible to apply AGC to the list itself (or anything played within the list) ?

Live stream with FFMPEG and 128 Kbit/s AAC audio bitrate produces output with audio bitrate from nearly 0 up to around 303 Kbit/s. Thats what nginx-rtmp module shows me on statistics page. In VLC I cannot see audio bitrate in codec information.

strict cbr is not selected.

Is this behaviour as it should be? VBR for audio?

Edit:
found the strict argument for audio in streaming log file.
Strange. After restarting the stream, statistics shows me fixed 138 Kbit/s and after a while it goes again up to around 300 Kbit/s per second and then it goes again down to 138 Kbit/s.

Edit2:
Now for 15 minutes it remains at 138 Kbit/s. Not sure if nginx-rtmp module statistics are correct?

Regards,
Andreas.

Streaming AAC audio bitrate is VBR with the average over a period of time following the bitrate set in the quality settings.
I would also recommend changing the audio sample rate in Settings -> Audio back to 48000 for a more accurate bitrate.

I have issue with shortcuts which is caused by clicking/deleting "create virtual input". I don't want to create it but as earlier versions had first option after right-click of mouse "Title editor" (which is more important and used than virtual input probably for most users) I do that as a habit... When creating virtual input shortcuts work fine, but when deleting it shortcuts mass up.

Do we realy need firs option as virtual input?
Why my shortcuts don't work properly after deleting it?

Just posted an update to vMix 16 that fixes the create virtual input bug where it might mess up shortcuts.

Could you please make "create virtual input" the last one in line, when right clicking on a photo input?

I think the ones we use more frequently should be on top and they are "Slideshow Settings" and "Refresh Photos" in my opinion.

Because of previous Vmix versions I'm used to clicking on the first option and since upgrading to Vmix 16 I very often created a virtual input by mistake.

Regards,
Patrick

Perhaps it should be moved to a separate new right click menu on the cog icon?
As it is an option only used by advanced users and only on rare occasions, making it part of the main input menu was probably
not the best idea in retrospect.

What does everyone think?
