Hi folks. Couldnt find a straight answer...

I can output video fine, and encode video fine on this card. But I cant do both... i get the vmix error about a conflict.

Can anyone say for sure that this card will not capture and output video at the same time?

I am not going to put my house on it as I do not own this card, but most BM cards will only work one way at a time. ie. Only input or only output. Having said that there are a number of BM cards that can be configured to do both. Decklink Duo and Quad for example. The best place to ask is on the BlackMagic support site.

Just an educated guess here (so maybe you are no further ahead in your quest), but I suspect you have your answer if vMix is giving you an indication of a conflict.
The DeckLink HD Extreme 3D is a discontinued version, so it is difficult to find documentation that would indicate if it is full duplex.
However, if you read between the lines in this blog from May 08, 2014:

It's 'replacement', the DeckLink 4K Extreme, promises full duplex mode (simultaneous capture and playback), which to me indicates that this was not possible in earlier models.
Not a straight answer but given your experience of it not working, leads me to believe that it is NOT full duplex.
