I can't imagine this has not come up before, but I didn't find any recent posts on the subject, so here goes:
My laptop recently upgraded itself from Win 8.0 to 8.1. I had been putting it off to do at when I had all my ducks in a row, but...
My copy of vMix Basic HD took this as a "hardware change" and deactivated the installed version! Murphy's law applies, of course, and I only discovered this as I was setting up for a broadcast. To save the show I uninstalled the app, downloaded a fresh copy, and chose the 60 day trial to get on the air. That worked, but the next time i loaded it the External output did not work. Grrr.
So finally, after quiet investigation the next day, I downloaded the current version 14.0.0.101. It took several tries but eventually I was then able to reactivate the Basic HD version with my key.
This was not fun. Any advice on avoiding this when Win 8.x rolls out (lol).
Thanks, Mike
