@ CJAY701

Have you considered "Bootcamp"?

http://forums.vmix.com.a....aspx?g=posts&t=3819

The simple answer is that the market is not yet large enough to merit the development of vMix on the Apple OS, especially when you can effectively run 'Bootcamp' to simulate the PC on your Mac, perhaps not the best use of Mac features, but it works.

Boot camp doesn't "simulate" Windows on a Mac. It runs an actual copy of Windows on the Mac. Since Apple went to Intel processors, long ago, there's no emulation of any kind. It's just a question of the badge on the hardware.

Point well taken Michael, I am not all that familiar with the technicalities of it all but described it as such for the benefit of Mac owners, who somehow want to believe that their Mac is still a Mac.

Bootcamp to Windows 7 for Vmix. Use your Mac OSX for browsing and general other computer use :) Thunderbolt ports work well via Bootcamp.

I dislike Windows 8, so can't say I've tested it out. I'm sure it works too. Looking forward to Windows 10.

Disadvantage discovered using a Bootcamp Mac:

Dual Boot so be prepared to partition your disk to appropriate sizes having a larger SSD is best of course
Sometimes you may need to have certain devices plugged in before you turn the computer on, notably some thunderbolt devices do not "hot swap" on Windows. They do on OSX.

Other than that is has all the normal pros/cons a Windows PC has :) I do think the hardware in a modern MacbookPro is A grade regardless of what OS you are running.

You may run out of ports. Thunderbolt docking stations may be your friend, which does unfortunately make it a little less portable.
