Does Vmix allow you to create a 3D perspective for screens in a virtual set. From the settings I cant see how you can do it as it does not allow you to independently position the corners of an image or video clip to give the effect of a screen being angled away from the viewer in a similar way you can do in most editing programs.
The only thing I can see is that you have to have the screen overlay flat on to the viewer but that doesn't look great in a simulated 3d environment.
Is this something that will be coming to vMix in the future?

@ paulshillito
It is certainly possible... It's just not as convenient as many of us would like. You have to use the sliders (and/or numerical values) to adjust every aspect of the image.
Tip: The 'Rotate' slider alternates through all X-Y-Z axes (if you click on the Z button)

Thanks Ice,
Pity the doc's aren't a bit more detailed on this, though there is a strange scaling effect going on.
Once a clip has been rotated to fit a perspective view and then it is panned in the X or Y, it appears as if it is rotating about a center which is some way off in Z space rather than just staying as you want it and then moving it in to the XY position.
This looks more like a bug than an intended result as it screws up the original perspective, I dont know it it is linked to the zooming of the camera in the virtual set but it does mess up the process somewhat :-(

@ paulshillito I agree, it is a very frustrating and tedious process that requires a tremendous amount of patience and seems next to impossible to achieve the 'perfect' desired effect. I've discussed this somewhat in other threads: http://forums.vmix.com.a....aspx?g=posts&t=3726http://forums.vmix.com.a....aspx?g=posts&t=2280UV space is difficult to work with on a good day. As you state, what looks right initially is not always right spatially when you 'Zoom' in, and it's real easy to mess it up when playing with sliders and settings. I'm not sure if the parameters are there to achieve perfect results, and I don't know if it's a bug or not with regards to perspective and location but through trial and error you can come reasonably close. The bottom line is, it's not a 3D graphics and design tool but it is pretty darn amazing what you can do with this "Video Mixer". Be patient my friend and adjust those 'sliders' ever so gently until you get as close to what you want as possible, and then celebrate with an ice cold beer... It probably wont get any better than that for now. Ice
