There was a previous post relating to this issue which someone was having on an XP install. I encountered the same problem on a Windows 8.1 install so I thought I would post the solution

When attempting to access the "Record Settings" on Vmix the error message apperars. This can happen when running a "PRO N" install because the media components VMix needs are not installed on that version.

If you are getting this error in Windows 7, use this download link: Media Feature Pack for Windows 7 N and Windows 7 KN

If you are getting this error in Windows 8, use this download link: Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 8

If you are getting this error in Windows 8.1, use this download link: Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 8.1
