I am attempting to connect two cameras Via firewire. HDR-HC3 and Hvr-Z5u
Windows 8, firewire cards (2) RC504 with legacy drivers installed. Firewire works fine in Adobe Premiere.
When I attempt to add either camera I get the Error
Could not Render Output
AddNewInput.INPUT_CAPTURE No combination of filters could be found to render the stream.
It is able to detect the model number of each camera but for some reason cannot render the video.
I am currently on the trial version and would like to know this works before I purchase.

@ drnick
What resolution are you attempting to capture? Firewire works well with SD but can be very temperamental with HDV. (I have never been successful with HDV and vMix, and have often struggled with it in Premiere CS5 )

I am attempting HDV. Upon doing further research I saw that I may need to upgrade to the Windows media center edition to work correctly. Though if that doesn't work I'm not sure what to do.

Just a little update. I switched the cameras into DV mode and is rendering the video fine. But would still prefer to be using HDV as the image looks much better.

Same here, but as stated earlier, I could never get HDV to work for me in vMix so if you ever find a solution let me know. It would seem that that era of camera and Firewire get very little support now days so any new acquisitions are better off being SDI and/or HDMI.

@IceStream
I was able to get the HDV to come in, but as it says on the site there is about a second delay so it quite annoying to say the least. Might have to go invest in an HDMI card.
