Does anyone have any experience in mixing incoming audio on a DAW installed on the same computer running vMix?

Right now I have a 32 audio channel board that is sending all channels to my pc into the DAW Reaper. I use Reaper to make a mix then I attempt to output from Reaper into vMix using the ReaRoute ASIO drivers, however I'm not able to get vMix to find the ReaRoute ASIO drivers.

I've already tried both x64 and both x32 versions of the drivers and both software packages, so I don't believe that's the problem.

I thought maybe someone else has successfully done this using different software?

vMix doesn't support ASIO.

Not using the same computer but technically its possible. We use a Behringer X32 every week for worship broadcast for multiple churches. Our workflow goes something like this.

X32 -> 32 Channels to Pro Tools (via USB)
Return Stereo Mastered Audio -> X32 (via USB)
X32 AES/EBU output -> Behringer UltraMatch (via Digital XLR)
UltraMatch -> vMix Computer (via Toslink Optical SPDIF)

Before we had that workflow we used a program called DDFM

This program allows you to route ASIO and Directx/Windows Devices between eachother using virtual devices. The great thing is that the program also enables you to add VST plugins in the chain, which can be a huge help in mastering audio for broadcast, ie MaxxVolume, L3 MultiMaximizer, ect.

How about Dante with something like the X-32 with Dante card on the front?

This sounds very interesting to me. Although I am somewhat confused as I know too little.

I included this topic in my related question in the vMix Audio Discussions Forum. Please go there and consider if it is in your interest to focus the discussion there.
