VMix-Settings-Web

Web Site Address: Picks some "random-ish" network interface to assign an address to, and in my case, as tested on 6 machines, probably the wrong one.

I tried disabling network cards, and the function breaks.

I tried pulling "A network card", and it just assigns to some other network interface (a public forward facing card in this case), still the wrong on.

I cannot spend all day, slowly rending the system useless to debug further.

OK. so it's a busted advertised feature.

Point is, if the system can dial home to check the license, and it can check for updates, it should be able get this right (and should be configurable - it should work on the correct network interface to be useful). Ideally, as a default, just use the same interface it dials home on or checks for updates with. Still, configurable would be good.

OK. So I tried this:

Code:

<setting name="WebServerAddress" serializeAs="String">
<value>192.168.64.90</value>
</setting>

No such luck.

I tried searching the forum (can't search for "web" or "ip" since the search engine required 4 characters - an issue that plagues me).

I'm sure this has to have been reported before (I tried RTFM), so luck.

So whats the fix?

Thanks in advance, VMix absolutely rocks (with only a few rough edges). We are starting to promote it now, and soon, will send a bunch more sales your way.

Hi Joe,

The web functionality in vMix is designed for systems with a single active network adapter only.
The vast majority of users fall into this category.

The IP address displayed is selected from the first active network adapter on the system, but any IP address
on the system will also work in accessing the web interface.

Regards,

Martin

Indeed it does work!

Thank you so much for pointing this out (and quickly too!).

I will remember to point out in my recommendations that the answer received from support was faster than trying my self-solve solutions!

Good Job, and thanks again Martin!

I do consider the product to be unrivaled (and on any platform)!

Joe
