I've put together a couple QuickTime 32bpp animation videos with an audio track, and they play fine in Vegas pro 13, and QuickTime. Even the original wav file used for the audio channel plays fine, until brought into vMix. vMix distorts the audio heavily.

I don't see many posts on this problem. Is no one else hearing this?

Are there specific settings I should be using to fix this?

Has the gain setting been set accidentally on the Master or on the Input in the audio mixer?
Does the audio meter peak the audio into the red, or is it at a normal level?

Not as I recall. I will review again, but that is something I usually check. It's not necessarily clipping, but more of a random crackling distortion. If you like, I can attempt to record a sample for you.

Yes, if you could record a sample that would help, also provide some system details as well
such as Windows version, vMix version, graphics card and CPU.

Make sure your audio bit-rate matches that of vMix.

Sure!
Isn't it always the case?
I went to record the issue, using the same files, and now they play fine!

I have noticed however the CPU usage at the moment is 0-3 % compared to 12-14 at the time i was having issues.
