Hello everyone.
I am writing to ask for clarification. I have a motherboard ASUS P8H61 R2.0, with two doors pci-e 2.0 x1. One, however, is covered by the heat sink of my video card. In the other pcie I installed a capture card, and would like to add another card. How could I fix it? I, also, two pci slots. Can I use a pci to pci express adapter card?

Thank You!

It's just an adapter, you can try it... I don't think that someone already did it here ...

Although there are PCI-to-PCIe adapters, I would recommend against using such solutions in production use. The capture card manufacturers might not support using PCIe devices in PCI bus, and the performance may be uncertain at best. Uncompressed video feeds take a lot of bandwidth, and legacy PCI interface is not necessarily capable of such streams.
If the planned setup works however, it's good information anyway :)

but you know a way to free the other slod pci express covered by the heatsink video card? Possible that when you design a motherboard does not take into account the dimensions? There maybe a video card with the heatsink in another position?

Hi STADIORADIO,

Have you thought about using an external USB capture box like a Blackmagic Design Intensity Shuttle?

Here are a couple of links, one is for Blackmagic Design and the other is for vMix supported hardware this will show you what vMix is compatible with:

@ STADIORADIO

Welcome to the frustrating world of building computers!
Most of today's 'video cards' take up 2 slots, are PCIe x16 and prefer to be in the first available slot.
There are some single slot cards and low profile cards as evidenced in these threads:
http://www.tomshardware....card-recommendation.html
http://techreport.com/fo...opic.php?f=3&t=94408

What 'additional' capture card where you hoping to add?
There are older PCI cards out there, but they may not fit your needs.
If you use an adapter, you will likely have to use a 'low profile' card to get it to fit.
Typically, the prudent way to build is to know what components you want in your end product and work your way back, lining up the compatible components that will get you there.
Retro-fitting is always an exercise in frustration.
Just my 2 cents...

Hello

I saw in one of your old post that you are using an ASUS GT610-SL-1GD3-L, Indeed this card is a big issue for you. But the problem you face did not require to use an adapter. If I was you, there is on the market plenty GT610 that did not have such design. like the ZOTAC - GeForce GT 610 2 GB. I will get ride of this asus and use a new one with acceptable radiator and FAN

Rgds

Hello

It might be an acceptable solution for the moment. The processor used by the two boards would be identical, with 1 gb more memory. With about 50 euro solve the problem. But soon I think I go to this

however, thanks to you all for the answers and directions that you give me, are really valuable.
Thanks to all
