Using vMix HD 14.0.0.112 X64
switcher out to Kona Lhi card
Display post out on Ge Force video card to onsite screen.
I start everything up, and it works fine. Then about 15 mins in, the external image freezes.
I have tried turning External Fullscreen off and on, didn't work. If I turn off fullscreen, I see my computer desktop. (which of course is correct)
When I turn it back on, I still see the frozen image, instead of what I'm live switching.
Also tried unplugging the Display Port, stays the same.
Since I'm live at an event, closing down and rebooting vMix isn't an option.
Any suggestions?

Hi,
What is the image stuck on the output? What type of input? Does the output window in the main vMix window show something different?
Also the graphics card model and windows version would be helpful.
Regards,
Martin vMix

Broadcasting a meeting, and the frozen image is from the first few minutes right when we went live.
Input is analog composite on the Kona LHi card.
The output is what I'm live switching. Fullscreen>Display1>Output is the setting.
I should also say that this is the first time this has happened. Full screen has worked perfectly up until today.

Thanks,
Is the Output/Program window in the main vMix window also showing the same frozen image as the fullscreen output? Are you using the LHi for output as well and is that image stuck?
If it happens again open up the statistics window and check what it says next to Fullscreen at the top.

Is the Output/Program window in the main vMix window also showing the same frozen image as the fullscreen output? no, it is showing the proper live switch. Are you using the LHi for output as well and is that image stuck? yes, I am using the LHi to output to an AJA KiPro and that is showing the correct switched image. Statistics: Thanks

Hello,
I apologize in advance for the bad English. I have the same problem. I think that the mistake must be Vmix.
I have a new installation of Windows 8.1, Vmix version 15.0.0.66, graphics card Nvidia GeForce GTX 660
My problem is that after some time will freeze Fullscreen output.
The only solution is to restart Vmix.
Please, there is already a fix for this problem ???
thank you in advance

Chiming in with roughly the same problem as 'duck' below - I've had a couple of freezes of fullscreen output - first time I've had an issue with that, and only after recent upgrade to vMix 15. In my case it's fullscreen on single monitor, and on Win7 pro. Doesn't seem to crash all of vMix, but fullscreen is toast until program restart. Mainly notable since it's been sooooo unusual to have any sort of stability issues. Mine is a mature system and was lightly loaded at the time. duck130883 wrote:Hello,

Update - I just noticed that, like 'duck', I'm running an NVIDIA 660 (GTX 660 Ti). The card is at driver version 347.25, and DirectX at 11.0 davesuemcbride wrote:Chiming in with roughly the same problem as 'duck' below - I've had a couple of freezes of fullscreen output - first time I've had an issue with that, and only after recent upgrade to vMix 15. If you leave a simple vMix session running with just a single video input on loop, does the issue still occur? Please run this test and report back the results, if it still freezes it will help me work out what might be causing it.
For what its worth, we have a system here running vMix 15 with a 750ti that is running 24/7 with the fullscreen output and running a whole lot of different input types without issue. So it is strange this is happening on some systems and I would like to get to the bottom of it.

It's running now - an MP4 loop I've run before for days for other tests. Fresh boot with bare minimum to get the test going. One catch though - since I usually run on just one monitor, I task switch to go back and forth to full-screen. Again, I've only had the problem twice, so I'm grasping, but it may be related to the task switching, in which case the burn-in test probably wouldn't surface the issue. I'll let it run overnight and post a quick update either way in the morning (California-centric ;) Thanks Martin! admin wrote:If you leave a simple vMix session running with just a single video input on loop, does the issue still occur? I also think that the problem could be related to task switching.
My problem with the frozen image came when I minimize Vmix.

I've noticed the same problem with the full screen function, but I have a suspicion that it might have something to do with Aero and the way Windows handles it.
I'm gonna try and disable it and see if I can still reproduce the error.

I have same issues since upgrade to Vmix 15. the output screen will freeze once I minimize Vmix but I have noticed that after todays upgrade to 15.0.0.68 it hasn't frozen so far. I will update if it does.

DDOtoo,
Can you confirm your system specs including Windows version and graphics card and how do you have the monitors connected? Are you using two displays?

Inter Core i5-4570 CPU @ 3.20GHz, 8GB Ram, 64 Bit OS, x64 based processor. Yes I am using two displays with the external monitor connected via thunderbolt to VGA with a thunderbolt to VGA adaptor. It's been that way for a over a year now. I have just updated to 15--72. Will keep you posted if there are any further freezes. Thanks for your help.

Re: If anyone is still having issues could you try the following test update below? http://www.vmixhd.com/download/vmix15.70.exe I've installed .70 per above and will keep an eye out. That said, it's been an infrequent issue, and I don't know how to trigger it explicitly, though I did do a few minimize / task switch operations with no problem. Any reason not to run with this build for production? I'd been on .63. Thanks again, David
