Need to be able to post all changes to a title page for live events. The current get method requires that we send a lot of data one piece at a time. We use the pause and resume to help keep it looking clean, but the process is cumbersome and it would be great if we could simply post the information to the system in one call instead of multiple calls.

PLEASE Please please!!!! --- we do live events with real time financial information being sent to the titler and this would be very beneficial. If we've missed a more efficient method in the API, please tell us what it is (XML?).

Something like

PauseRender=True
SelectedName_Country=USA
SelectedName_Currency=$1.00
SelectedName_Country2=Austraila
SelectedName_Currency2=$1.29
SelectedName_Date=February 8, 2015
ResumeRender=True

Maybe not the most elegant, but you get the idea. The actual amount of data that we send to a single page is much greater and includes the need to turn on and off different image backgrounds as well.

We are vMix fans, we would greatly appreciate this feature.

Thanks!

+1
(one of the reasons is that we have developed SmartTitler to manage many lines and graphics, still in closed beta)

Will SmartTitle be accessed through API?

Thanks.

SmartTitler (sorry, I missed the ending "r", corrected now) will be an add-on that manages Title content/display via vMix's API.

Yes, I remember looking at this now.

We use vMix to broadcast live auctions with 100s of lots for sale, each lot with a great number of data points that are all displayed using the titler. We need to send the info to the system and have it display with great speed. Very systemic, mostly run through api calls ... the solution you have, while great for many applications, is not the right solution for what we're doing.

We really need a simple and efficient way to send the multiple data points with a single call vs. the many calls (1 at a time) and a simple post would be the best solution.

Thanks for your work, please let us know if you have any other solutions.

Regards.

Mike,
you can optionally render a .png file with the necessary data points, and use Title API to turn the title on/off. vMix polls Windows 10 times a second to check if an image used in an Input has changed, and automatically loads the updated one if it has. You need to create a program that is capable of rendering .png. And if that program runs on another PC, find a way to get it over to the production PC, eg using Dropbox or a shared network drive (have not tried the latter).

That is a good plan B ... Still wish there was a simple post.

Do you know of any such programs? Speed is a concern as many times the data associated with the item being sold changes at the last second ... Sometimes even while the item is being sold on the air.

I appreciate you tip, it's great info. Thanks!

Sorry, no. I think it has to be developed in something like C# or C++ using libraries for rendering graphics from text/images and output as png.

And of course vMix API using POST is what we would like to see ;)
