Team,
I've been working at getting this working on my iMac for some time now. I've read all the posts here and on the Apple Support site. I've done everything indicated to do but the program still doesn't load. I continue to get the dreaded message:
The application "vMixDesktopCapture.app" can't be opened.
Again, it is listed in the Firewall settings as well as the iMac is set to allow unsigned application to run. Sharing the screen is enabled. What else can I check to get this working?
Thanks for your wise words!
Beloved

OSX 10.9.5 (Running on a MBPR)... I've never seen your problem outside the context that you've already said you've checked. Works fine for me.

I did some more checking and to my surprise, vMixDesktopCapture.app is not showing up in my firewall log. The only other solution I've been able to find is to say that hte downloaded file is corrupted and can't be opened. I've downloaded the file numerous times with the same results when running it.
When was the last time you downloaded the file you use?
Could you send me a copy of the app file your using?
Also, I'm running OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.2
Thanks for your help!

I think you have just answered your problem, you are running Yosemite.
I have a MacBook Pro using OSX 10.9.5 and vMix Desktop Capture runs with no problems.
If you can go back to your old OSX version and you will find vMix Desktop Capture will work.

I've got all my Macware running Yosemite and working nicely with with all the IOS devices. Perhaps the day will soon come when I can port my Mac inputs directly into vMix. Until then I'll run them through BMTVS and come in through the backdoor. Not really want I wanted but it'll work ok with the BM switcher. Thanks for pointing this out to me!

One way you can get around your problem is to buy a Blackmagic Intensity Pro card and install that into your vMix PC. You would also have to buy a HDMI to Thunderbolt adapter.
This is how you would setup: plug the HDMI to Thunderbolt adapter into your iMac and connect a HDMI cable into that then plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the Intensity Pro card, open up vMix then goto add input then goto camera and add the Intensity Pro card, press OK then your iMac will be seen by vMix.
The other thing you have to do before doing the above settings in vMix would be to make sure the Intensity Pro card and your iMac are setup to the same resolution otherwise the Intensity Pro card will not see your iMac.

Beloved,
vMix Desktop Capture for OSX has been tested and confirmed working on Yosemite. Can you provide a screenshot showing what happens when you try to open it?

Beloved,
As Martin has said vMix Desktop Capture for Yosemite is working, in that case what version of vMix and Desktop Capture are you using?

Team,
I'm glad to hear that vMix capture is working in Yosemite!!! I running 2 windows machines, currently building a third, one is Win 7 and the other Win 8.1. They are both running the latest 14 builds and are registered 1000 input HD. Len thanks for your work around solution, I have the Mac setup similarly to how you indicated.
As for a screen shot, I'm currently away from The Glory Studio till mid next week. I'm getting a dialog box that pops up with this message:
The application "vMixDesktopCapture.app" can't be opened.
Thank you for your Support!

Hi,
As mentioned previously could you please send through a full screenshot of the error? The error description doesn't help that much I will need to see a screenshot for the specifics of the error.
Regards,
Martin vMix

This is helpful actually. Try downloading again from Safari and then run the application directly from Downloads.
This error may mean the permissions for it in the applications folder may be corrupt.

Martin vMix

I checked up on your comments and ran disk tools to verify Disk Permissions. As you suspected I found numerous alerts but none associated with vMixCapture. I repaired the Permissions but, vMixCapture returns the same error.
