Hi everyone,

This is a call for an answer to Magewell products pricing around the world.

I live in the U.K. and I'm finding it hard to buy the Magewell XI400DE HDMI - Quad HD HDMI inputs - 4x PCIe card, I have found two companies that stock this card in the UK but it seems to be very expensive over here, both companies are selling it for £495.00 then you have to add 20% VAT so the total price is £594.00.

I am using the BlackMagic Design ATEM TVS to bring my cameras and Laptops in but anyone who has one of these would know that you can only switch one camera at a time and vMix does not see the ATEM TVS, so I wanted to buy the Magewell XI400DE so I can have two or three cameras plus laptop/s and have vMix see each camera/s and laptop/s separately, the reason for this is so I can use a laptop for a powerpoint presentation and have the presenter on two cameras, each camera would have a virtual set of its own.

At the moment the ATEM TVS is plugged into input of a BlackMagic Design intensity Pro card via the programme output of the TVS for vMix to see, so the TVS is very limited for what it can do and is not really sufficient for my needs with the use of vMix.

I have noticed on some forums that many people around the world are buying the Magewell XI400DE card, so my question is how much did you pay for this card in total? and can I buy it cheaper from another country?

The companies who are selling the Magewell XI400DE HDMI card in the UK are:
Planet PC @ £525.00 ex VAT (£630.00 inc VAT)
Zen Video @ £495 ex VAT (£594 inc VAT)
Streaming Hardware @ £495 ex VAT (£594 inc VAT)

Thank You.

I bought the card from ZEN video, and payed 495GBP. Didn't have to pay VAT as a EU company.

So £495+VAT is the best for you.

The price you see is the normal price for this card.
Even if you try to buy it directly from them (Magewell, the company ; it's possible), it's to more expensive if you want only one unit. Their cost is lower and good if you order it more than 10 at once.

I will advice then to take this price

Just got an MSRP pricelist from Magewell of $999 for the X1400DE-HDMI and the X1400DE-SDI, so still unsure what the resellers discounts would be.
But just off to ISE in Amsterdam where Magewell are exhibiting, so will check what the trade pricing is, and how it applies to differing countries with differing currencies. I would guess though that all sales are in USD to resellers.
There is another company exhibiting at ISE called YUAN, who also make similar products, and maybe better priced.
If anyone can look at their site and advise products of interest I can check out pricing with them.
yuan.com.tw
Maybe time to set up a "friends of vMix buying group" perhaps?
