Martin, I've got a Dell T7500 workstation running dual 6-core xeon processors at 2.9ghz. I'm trying to run a single 1080_59.94i replay camera but I get an error message saying I need at least a 3.4ghz processor. Have you tested any dual-processor hardware for performance? I would think the 12 cores of this system would be at least as good as 4 cores running at 3.4ghz. Any way to make the error messages a warning, but not absolutely deny the setup?
Also, tried using 720_59.94p as the input, but received an error message saying frame rates did not match. Both the input and the replay settings were set to 59.94p at the time and the exact shame numbers were showing up in both places in the error message.
I was able to get the replay system to work with the output module at 720x480_29.97p so I will keep playing with it. Looks great so far.

For 720 59.94p, did you have any non-default settings when adding the camera, I.E VMR ticked or anything like that?
Regarding 6 core machines, I will adjust the check to decrease ghz to 2.8ghz with more than four cores present.

Ah, damn!
I'm at the hockey rink right now and wanted to test the new replay system on a game day. I installed the new Vmix version and tried to activate the replay input...BAM...I forgot that i had a 3930k processor in this computer, with only 3.2 ghz -.-
Looks like may testsession will be delayed to another game day.

You can test it at SD resolutions with less than the required 3.4Ghz. Future versions will allow lower speed processors when there are more than 4 cores.
Are you running stock speeds or OC? Mine is OC'd to 3.8Ghz. Haven't tried 720P_HD replay on that system yet. Wondering if the hardware requirements are based on published specs or actual operation?

@ Rinsky
How many inputs and at what resolution?
I am much more underpowered than you at the moment, but am testing the workflow mostly. So far, no performance issues with i7 950 3.0 Ghz with a GEForce 470 @ 720x480 with 2 SD inputs to traditional external HD via USB 3. (This is far below the 'supported' specs, but as I said, I am testing the workflow and learning the interface)

Thanks for the kind replies, but I have to use 1080i inputs.
I just tried it with 1 SD input and it worked, but I have to use HD signals when the game starts.
Thank you!
Edit:
Oops, I just realised that I accidentally posted in the wrong thread. My posts should actually be in the " Are Hardware Requirements Absolute" thread.

I will be dropping the requirements somewhat for single channel operation so this input is helpful.
The basis for the requirements is the assumption that other components of vMix will be used as well such as streaming etc, so it is a bit higher than needed in a lot of cases.

Why only for one channel?
Right now I can use all channels with the 3770K, which has less power than the 3930K.
It should rather depend on overall cpu power than on ghz per core.
A warning instead of a prohibition would make more sense.

Am I missing something here?
Does vMix 15 actually NOT launch the new Replay application if certain requirements are not met? Or is it simply that performance and reliability issues will not be 'supported' by the vMix development team if the minimum requirements are not met?
I am pretty sure that I do not meet the minimum requirements but I have been able to access and "test" the new features. I would not expect my system to perform to "Standard" or want to "use" the new Replay features without the minimum requirements. But in terms of evaluating the features and workflow for it's potential use for me down the road is invaluable.

Well then, the question begs to be asked, what are those requirements? Since I don't meet the current minimum HD requirements: http://www.vmixhd.com/re...?SystemRequirements.htmlBut am able to launch with 2 SD inputs seemingly without issue. Where and how does vMix "draw the line"? Ice

Seems to be the CPU required. (at least 2Ghz it tells me and I only have 1.867Ghz) after all other settings are set correctly thats were it refuses to accept any posibility of testing even if this means some glitches

I will look at removing the checks in the next beta.
The question is the best way to approach this for the final release.
On the support side of things, we constantly receive emails from customers who have not looked at the system requirements and are wondering why vMix is not doing x,y or z properly, so I have also had that in the back of my mind when implementing these hard limits.
I am interested on feedback on perhaps a better way of managing this.
Regards,
Martin vMix

as someone that has posted a question about an underpowered system and a support engineer as well, i can relate to you wanting to warn people that it probably won't work. Then again you can't test all setups with all footage types, so i might just as well do work, and i would like some way to unlock features on probably unsupported hardware.
I wouldn't mind having to agree to a disclaimer, even with a prerequested passcode or whatever , stating that i'm on my own in this, but disallowing use alltogether is a bit harsh.
(i'm an IT dinosaur, i ran SAP systems on virtual hardware far before SAP allowed for that , knowing very well that i would have to replicate any problem i had on supported , non-virtual hardware before i was elligable for support, I see this in the same way)

@ Martin
I don't think removing the checks is the prudent way to go on your part. Perhaps a pop up window warning that vMix has detected that minimum specs have not been met, with a link to supported specs. Performance, reliability and stability issues are likely if you continue and that vMix does not recommend or support underpowered system's use of the replay feature. (or something along those lines)
I also think that anyone purchasing the final release will most likely be properly equipped to handle the new features, but then again, stranger things have happened...

Martin, I agree with M@ik and Ice. I believe that a proper description of required hardware for a couple of example uses is the way to go. Perhaps supplemented with a agreement/confirmation at time of purchase.
On a side note, do you check the cpu/graphic cards spec or actual power. The latter is of course dependent on if the user is overclocking/trimming...
