After investing in vMix 4K (14.0.0.102) I was kind of surprised when I found that when two Fullscreen displays are used, the Output jitters (kind of reduced frame rate). When Fullscreen is turned off the Output (and recording) is nice and smooth.
Anyone else noticed similar problems?
1280x720 50p production on an i7 6 core CPU. Nvidia GTX660 where DVI/VGA is for Main monitor (vMix), HDMI for Display1, and DVI-D for Display2. Render time is 0-4 ms, CPU barely engaged, and vMix's performance monitor reports no frame loss. Slim preset, using just one camera Input (1280x720 @50p) and an image Input.
Sort of desperately need two fullscreens for our application that allows an external PC to control which Input should be sent to Fullscreen Display1. Multiview is sent to Display2, which is used by the external operator.
Unfortunately I do not remember if we actually checked the video smoothness when we tried earlier using vMix's trial version (which allows two fullscreens). Or maybe we used one Fullscreen and one External...
Any help appreciated.

Hi,
Couple of things to check:
1. If your motherboard/cpu has integrated graphics make sure it is disabled in the BIOS. (it can impact performance even if not used) 2. Windows 8.1 is recommended for three displays so try that if at all possible. 3. Double check the Performance tab in settings and make sure Synchronise Output is Unticked.
Regards,
Martin vMix

Also extremely important is to make sure the refresh rate on all displays is set to 60hz regardless of frame rate in vMix.

Thanks Martin, will check all that tomorrow. I set displays to 50 Hz, so hopefully that's it.

No integrated graphics on this MoBo I am using Win 8.1 Synchronized output was unticked¨ Changed refresh rates on all monitors to 60 Hz. That seems to have done the trick. Next step will be to test with the full setup. I posted a new topic about a demo of the SmartIMAG application we are developing.

Just curious - whats is the idea behind 60hz, why does it work while 50hz doesnt ? I was thinking that for European 50p production all displays should be set to 50hz, while for US/NTSC/60p production 60hz should be used.
