vMix error message in "License Required" occurred.
Error message : "Not licensed for CineForm.com to Purchase your upgrade."
vMix edition : vMix HD 2012-7.0.28

Hi,

Please contact CineForm for instructions on registering the codec as the license does not appear to be active.

Hi Martin, I installed the Cineform Neoscene and that installation seemed to go alright. After the install I ran the script that can be found in the cineform Tools folder and it registered all the codecs.

A restart of the computer and then starting the vMix does not show any Cineform codec. I followed your instructions to make all available codecs visible by changing the config file and while it did show more codecs, the Cineform codec is not there.

In the codec options I see

WMVideo8 Encoder DMO
WMVideo9 Encoder DMO
MSScreen 9 encoder DMO
DV Video Encoder
MJPEG Compressor
Decklink MJPEG Compressor

I do not get much wiser from Black Magic and hope you have a suggestion for this.

Thanks,

Rob

Hi Rob,

To use CineForm with vMix you will need to ensure you are running the normal version of vMix and not the 64bit option.

Ok Martin, I will try that tomorrow.

But what is the difference between the normal and 64bit version and when to use what?

I understood that to use the decklink duo for dual recording mjpg via Media Express from BMD, the 64 bit version is preferred.
This does work on my machine.

Thanks for the quick replies ( but your news about my motherboard being low-end was disappointing...) :-)

Regards,
Rob

Hi Martin,

I ran into the same thing and just about to post a message: I can see different codecs in both 32 and 64 bit versions. So I know you are aware of it. Would like to know the difference between 32 and 64 bit regarding codecs also.

By the way: I installed Cineform Studio - which is free from the GoPro site and it will install the Cineform codec (v7.6.2). It shows up in Vmix32.

Did anybody do some tests? Any recommendations?

Cheers Stefan

The difference is the 64bit version provides access to more memory which is useful for things such as the Video Delay.

The 64bit version can only use 64bit codecs and vice versa which is why CineForm does not appear in that version.

Martin
