Hi
I'm still looking for the perfect PC for using Vmix. Vmix System Requirements Intel Core i7 Processor. Ok, but what needs Vmix more - faster CPU or much Cores?
My set-up:
1 Decklink quad card (4 SDI camera inputs) 1 250 SSD 16 RAM
I work with 4 Cams (1980 input). 3 Cams have a delay (Replay). Programm output with 720/1280. Encoding over the FLME with 3 multibitrates 1. 1280/720, 3 MB Bitrate 2. 960/544, 1.8 MB Bitrate 3. 640/360, 1.2 MB Bitrate Can recommand me anybody a System Requirement for this process?

CPU & memory are important. BUT....You really need as good a GPU as you can afford. See the requirements for min and recommended specs.
SSD too if you're planning to playback video from the PC and/or record the output
Any of the current i7 range will be good enough

I have asked this question some time ago as well. Nobody seems to have a clear answer on this. It might be an important one, since I'm also looking for a long time already at many different configurations. Any i7 could mean a 4, 6 or 8 core machine at this moment. I have an i7 2600k right now, and i can overclock it easily to 4000 ghz and run stable. There are 6 core i7's on the market as well, that are not so easily overclockable. What would be the best? Seems like you have to do this very expensive experiment by yourself since nobody can give you a clear answer :) I think with my limited knowledge that this is because the question might be very difficult to answer: - are you using vmix for recording only, streaming only or both? - if you stream, do you use the ffmpeg option or fmle or do you use the output and stream over OBS? - What codec do you use to record, h264 or Mpeg? I think your ideal setup depends a bit on the answers to these questions and probably a lot more. I find myself completely alone on this one as well. But there is a lot of info that you can find on the internet and by studying the components of vmix: directshow, ffmpeg, fmle, haali media spliter,.. Some of these components rely on cores, others more on clockspeed, and maybeye some others on the graphics card as well. Depending on what you use and how you use it, you might find some more clear answers there. Offcourse it would be nice if you shared some of the knowledge here as well:)

Hello
In my opinion, I will Split this configuration
Since Will ago a read form one of our member, maybe h2video.nl, that he use one unit for recording and one for streaming, when I come to build stable unit for professional use, I advice my client to split it also, One unit to recording and the other to Streaming.
Then, if you go to this, even you will spend some more, Go for the Unit recording with a simple Icore 5 and for your Streaming unit with and icore 7-477x and a good grafic card also
if you want to do one unit only for this job, you can keep this latest I7 and and good Grafic card also
This is only an advice I gave to you

Patrick I am running same setup as you except for the following and I am happy with setup performance: 720p at 2.5 MB bitrate 32 GB RAM (I don't think vMix uses much ram so extra ram probably useless) Decklink Mini in addition to Decklink Quad. PNY NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 2GB GDDR3 graphics card. HDMI to SDI converters ($50 each and work great!) HDMI to SDI Converter on Ebay200mm fan to keep the Decklink Quad cool (it gets hot!!) 200MM fanI am only running one vMix. I only record good Instant Replay clips and that is pretty slow to record and I could miss another great shot while it is recording. When I get additional help then we will want to setup a 2nd vMix just for recording the replay clips for game highlights, play of the game, etc. The second vMix will allow us to incorporate Fingerworks Telestrator into the production as well. A higher clock speed is going to give you better raw performance. 1080p is more demanding that 720p, especially so if you're pushing 60FPS.
It will also depends how well vMix handles multi-threading, but typically more clock speed will fair better.
If you're doing local recording, you will need either one of the newer M.2 SSDs or a RAID setup to keep it all running smoothly. We record locally and then push out into another machine to capture a backup and for replays, that can be fed back into the primary machine. xSplit is pretty good as just capturing footage as it'll split them at any size you choose, if you using another computer.
Bear in mind if you ever plan to upgrade to more than one capture card, get a 40 lane CPU.
