Thanks: 2 times
I have a stack of scripts that manipulate an excel spread sheet that i use as a data source. sometimes things go wrong and i need to adjust or edit the spreadsheet but i really need to make edits from a network connected laptop and not my vmix pc.

there are locking issues with excel that prevent 2 copies being opened and edited at the same time.

I tried to use one drive to store the spreadsheet and access from the pc and the laptop but datasource doesnt update while both are open.

Has anyone found a work around or solution to this problem. Yes google sheets is an option in theory but all my py scripts edit an excel sheet.

Have you considered using a small database like SQLite or PostgreSQL instead of Excel? Your Python scripts could read and update the data while you edit it remotely from your laptop. Another option is a simple web-based interface for making changes without opening the spreadsheet directly. This could help avoid the file-locking issues.
