Hello! A relatively new user to vMix (but surrounded by tons of experts in our space), and I'm apparently the one wannabe power user as far as production scale is concerned.

We routinely have shows with 10-14 camera inputs (and a few other things we like to monitor - like overlays and replays) and up until recently have been using Livestream Studio which has a couple of VERY nice Multiview options (one of the few things they do/did right). We have been using their PVW/PGM top half option (traditional big windows) plus an arrangement of 3 rows of 6 inputs (18 total) below - or two quadrants of 3x3. I had considered creating a multiview from hardware options on the single monitor we have, but there's not even a 3x3 configuration as an option to pump into the hardware multiview creator.

So.... can we work on more multiviews please? :) On a 4K monitor, we have plenty of real estate and clarity for 18 inputs plus 2 across the top in a traditional location.

To summarize: 3x3 and a [1x2 + (3x6)]

Thank you!!

Are you able to provide a screenshot, as there doesn't seem to be any readily available images of these layouts online.

+1 I have asked for this in the past. Might still be a feature request somewhere.

I was looking at the same thing.
Incredibly useful.
Multiview with Preview/Program + 18 Input - or 20 Input multiview customizable.

Thanks,
Giovanni

I've mentioned this before as well but I'll keep beating the drum because I really want it! Off-resolution Multiviews would be awesome. I used a 3840x2160 monitor for my multiview, but my shows are all in 1080p50. I'd love to be able to output to my monitor in 2160p on a 1080p show, without needing to increase the entire show resolution. Especially if we can have layouts (like the Legacy layout but nicer) that use the entire screen real estate. Being able to have a multiview where my PGM/PVW are true 1080p sections (i.e. 1/4th of my 2160p monitor) would be ideal for me.

+1 — I would also really like to see a much more flexible and professional MultiView system.

Rather than simply increasing the number of sources in a single MultiView, I would suggest a dedicated Professional MultiView system designed to support two physical displays.

For example:

Display 1:
- Large Preview (PVW)
- Multiple smaller source windows, all with the same size

Display 2:
- Large Program (PGM)
- Multiple smaller source windows, all with the same size

The smaller windows should be assignable to any vMix input/source, not only cameras. They could contain Inputs, NDI, SRT, graphics, replay, calls, media, outputs, or any other available vMix source.

Ideally, each MultiView display would have its own customizable layout, allowing the user to choose which source appears in each window and save the layout as part of the preset.

I would also suggest that this be implemented as a dedicated MultiView output system, with an additional output specifically designed for MultiView monitoring. This output should not consume, replace, or interfere with the existing Fullscreen Outputs.

This would allow users to continue using their existing Fullscreen Outputs for other purposes while having a dedicated professional MultiView system for monitoring.

The number of available source windows could depend on the GPU and hardware capabilities rather than being limited to a fixed number.

This would provide a much more professional monitoring solution for larger productions and allow many sources to be monitored simultaneously without making all the windows extremely small.

I have attached a simple diagram showing the concept I have in mind. IDEA.jpg (56kb) downloaded 11 time(s).
