Hello.
Could someone share their experience with using vMix on VPS?

What kind of resources do you need to run it? GPU?

We would like to turn it into always-on streamer with people joining over ... SRT?

It's doable but I don't see the advantage right now. The cloud or virtual resources make sense if you spawn them for some time and shut them down again. If you go for a always on system local resources might be the better way.
A good ISP + router and a proper PC can do it for way less than a VPS hosted somewhere for you. You can also be behind a dynamic IP. With dynamic DNS services you are always reachable at the same endpoint.
Please remember that with SRT you need an open port per connection and it's one way only. You need a second SRT for the return feed.

Take a look into medialooks. They have first class transport solutions if this is your concern.

I’ve been wondering about this too. For an always-on setup, I’d assume a VPS with a proper GPU is pretty important, especially if you’re doing any encoding or multiple inputs. SRT sounds like a good option for remote contributors as well.

Has anyone actually run vMix 24/7 on a VPS for a longer period? I’d be interested to know what GPU/CPU specs you ended up using and whether there were any stability or reconnect issues.

Do you have to really port forward incoming port for SRT to work? This also means you have to have a dedicated IP from your ISP.

I thought that SRT is outgoing only and do not require any open ports on client's side.
