I'm building a custom external control panel for Instant Replay on top of vMix 29's HTTP API (replicating a replay workflow for live motorsport broadcasts). All the replay actions — marking, selecting events, camera angles, play to output, slow motion — work great through the existing /api?Function=... calls.

For context: we used to run this production on Streamstar, and one thing it did really well was how simple it made creating and managing replays — quick marking, an easy event list, fast review of what each clip actually contained. That overall simplicity of replay creation/management is something I think vMix is still missing compared to it, and it's the main reason I'm posting this.

The specific gap: when you trim/review a Replay event inside vMix, the Replay controller already plays the marked in/out segment as a continuous loop in its own preview window. That loop only exists locally on the vMix machine though — there's no way to see it remotely or pull it via the API.

Request: expose that same "currently selected event, in/out range, looping" preview as something reachable outside the vMix app itself — e.g. a dedicated output or NDI source that always mirrors the active Replay selection in motion. Doesn't need to be full broadcast quality, even a small/low-bitrate continuous feed would be enough.

Why it matters: for any setup where the replay operator isn't the one looking at the rest of the control room (a director's station, a second screen, an external panel like the one I'm building), this is the gap left — you currently have to be physically looking at the vMix monitor to know what a marked clip contains before sending it to air. This was effortless in Streamstar and is the piece I miss most.

I'll attach a few screenshots from Streamstar below to show what I mean by "simple replay management" — hopefully it makes the comparison clearer.

Has anyone else run into this, or found a workaround? And if vMix devs are reading — would love to see this added, happy to help test it.
