The problem: my client wants a delay on the output of Vmix so that we can break away from the event in case of injury.
The solution: I added a video delay of 120 seconds. I created two shorcuts, each with its own button on my Streamdeck. The first shortcut sets the source of Output 2 to the video delay. The second shortcut sets the source of Output 2 to Output 1 (active). I then set the Stream Properties to use Output 2.
The procedure: Press the button for the first shortcut; this enables the delay. You're then cutting video as normal. THEN! an accident happens, one of the athletes is swallowed by a shark. Cut to your cutaway scene (like a prerecorded stand-by card or something) and press the button for second shortcut, which takes the video delay out of the signal path. You are then free to cut video (avoiding the camera with the shark attack, of course).
