Hi all,

I just tested a vmix call and the user had problems to change the webcam to an external one. We are using always the advanced version of vmix call.
After testing I found out that it is not possible anymore to change the webcam or mic in the vmix call advanced menu in chrome (Version 149.0.7827.54). After the reconnect chrome keeps the old webcam and mic.
The only possible way to change a webcam or mic is in the Chrome settings.

I also tested it with Edge (latest Version 149.0.4022.52) and there it is the same problem.

With Firefox (latest Version: 151.0.3)everything works like it should.

Can somebody do a quick test.

Hi,

There is a known issue with Chrome browsers, where basically Google has decided to ignore any "suggested" camera or microphone preferences entirely.
The fix is to force the selected camera and microphone without falling back to a different device if it is not available.

We have rolled this out now to advanced.vmixcall.com so give it a try and see if it helps.
(If not you may need to clear the browser cache)

Regards,

Martin

Hi Martin,

what a great support. The Cam and Mic switching is working again in Chrome and Edge.

Thank you.

Best regards.

Michel
