We sometimes live stream productions from our theatre, when licencing and other factors allow.

We recently did what was (thank goodness, a test stream) of a 2.5 hour play. In fact we did it twice.

The first time, the audience at home briefly lost the connection at 2 hours and 6 minutes.
The second time, the audience at home briefly lost the connection after only 46 minutes.

On both occasions it came back quickly.
Nothing was noted by the streaming team in the theatre.

After the stream had ended, checking both the reply and the download .mp4 file, showed that both ended at the point that it dropped.

Network in the building good, all connections good, fibre to the cabinet.
The streaming computer (a high spec tower, shows speeds of 105.9 Mbps download, 18.9 Mbps upload

Running vMix 4K 26.0.0.46 x64 on Windows 11 to Crowdcast v.3

What bitrate were you sending to your streaming provider? Your upload bandwidth doesn't leave a lot of room for error if something goes wrong.

Hi. In vMix Streaming settings we have:

Quality: H264 1080p 3mbps AAC 192kbps
Application: FFMPEG

In Settings:
Master Frame Rate: PAL 25p
Output Size: 1920x 1080
Output Aspect Ration: Widescreen

Is any of that dumb? I am still learning.

I wonder if my audio of 192 is unnecessarily high?
