I just updated to vMix 29 and the latest Zoom plugin, and it seems like I can no longer just hit join (as a guest), and I have to be logged into a Zoom account. Is this true or is something else going on? If this is true, there's a drawback in that our production team shares vMix show files, which would carry over the credentials every time someone hits save, and we would be constantly having to log out and in as the correct user.
In fact, it would be great as a feature add if the Zoom plugin credentials didn't get saved into the vMix file, but was saved as part of the vMix settings that are unique to each install.

Hi,
Zoom has implemented a new requirement that logins are now required for joining meetings. Zoom will be enforcing this across the board for all early next year, but Zoom recommended we implement this as soon as possible, so that is why it is in the latest update.
In regards to the saved login, these already are saved per machine and not per preset.
Regards,
Martin vMix

Martin vMix Hello Martin, Can't speak highly enough about your prouducts. Hope you are having a fantastic Holiday. Is there any hope that one day the zoom client will allow us to SSO into Zoom Gov Cloud tenants?

Martin vMix Hi, I find this odd as we also develop Zoom apps and our participants are not required to do so. This is causing issues, as we are getting ready to upgrade to vMix 29 from 27 on 40 machines, none of which have zoom accounts. We always host the meetings from other devices, and vmix joins as a regular participant. This is a must, as vmix has been auto-approving waiting room participants once it's co-host. So we never give vMix host privileges. But also, licencing all these devices is a no go. Are there any workarounds? Your help documents still say it's not mandatory, contrary to the above. We unfortunately cannot continue using vMix if this is forced. Thank you

It may be a hassle, but I don't see why it's a "no go". Because you then need to get 40 zoom licences/users, manage these extra accounts, and you can't share all these passwords with freelancers. Hope that they never log out too. Managing different locations becomes a real hassle that shouldn't happen. We're not talking a personal vmix licence here, we're talking multiple studios and traveling devices in a corporate environment.

If you are a Zoom SDK developer you will have received emails and notices about this change. It will eventually be enforced for all apps, but Zoom advised us it was better to start enforcing it as soon as we can. I would have preferred they keep allowing connecting to Zoom meetings without a login, but ultimately this is their decision, and all apps will need to abide by it. It is important to note however that a paid account is definitely not needed to login to Zoom, you can use a free account just fine, and the HD settings etc will be determined by the host, not by what license is on the user logged in.
