this weekend used vmix 13 after having used previous versions since 9 on the same machine.
My inputs were: 7 rtsp streams , 1 USB capture , 1 desktop capture. Recording to disk in mpg2, fullscreen output via nvidia graphics card, and streaming to yt. I had a render time for most of the weekend around 50-60 ms, cpu usage 17-18%. I noticed video motion wasn't quite smooth with such render time, specially on input preview. Only for a few hours did render time go down to 20-30 ms and with those values video preview and output was smoother, but i don't know what caused the difference, i had the same inputs. Machine wasn't rebooted for 3 days until after 48h vmix suddenly stopped responding , had to reboot machine.
I've never had such high render times, what can i do to get better performance ? current machine is i7, 16g ram, nvidia gt610, win 7 pro, latest vmix 13

A better graphics card is a must. I would recommend the GTX 660 or 760.
