I would love to see vMix running on Linux. Just tested multiple distros and finally landed on Linux Mint. Mint has familiar enough user interface for people that have only used windows or mac. And I had no problems to get SDI-card to work in it. Right now we have one stream pc with Linux Mint and OBS just in case windows update brake our windows computers.

Very interesting discussion. However, one thing that is largely missing currently in Linux is the availability of NDI tools compared to Windows or Mac.
But one has to agree that Windows is gradually becoming more and more volatile platform for critical production work in practice. Yes, solid setups do exist but they are apparently increasingly harder to reach. And even that is not a firm guarantee that one day the OS doesn't do something nasty and practically irreversible to itself. I have to admit using a registry hack for skipping autoupdates for some time in the foreseen future :) If things keep going further this way, it may be possible that Windows will end up being unsuitable for applications like vMix, at which point looking at alternative OS's is more viable. In any case, I can't imagine how much porting would be needed for the codebase, unfortunately.
