Fade function on ReplaySwapChannels shortcut (Instant replay)

We often use the vMix Instant Replay system to generate replays during sports events. Our vMix setup is connected to an external MIDI controller, and we make extensive use of multiple Instant Replay shortcuts.
One key difference in our workflow is that we use a custom approach that we find easier to operate and more similar to the EVS-style Program/Preview output workflow.
When operating replays, I usually switch between the A and B replay channels using the "Swap Channels" shortcut. However, in vMix the actual output remains on a single replay output (Output A only).
What is happening in our workflow is the following: we switch from Replay A to Replay B while Replay A is set to be on air. We then change the camera angle using the ReplaySwapChannels shortcut. This swaps the angle from A to B, but it does not switch the vMix output from Replay A to Replay B.
This behavior is actually what we want, and it works well - however, it only works with a CUT transition, not with a FADE.
I understand that a fade transition normally works when mixing Output A and Output B and switching between them using a fade shortcut or play events function . My question is: is it possible to apply a FADE transition to the independent ReplaySwapChannels shortcut, where only the replay angles are swapped between A and B, while the active output remains on Replay A and does not switch output from A to B?

Hey friend, here in Brazil I also work a lot with replay and I even asked vMix support to do exactly that, and the answer was: Swap channels is for copying data from one channel to another and not for transitioning as it seems. To transition between channels A and B you have to use Preview and PGM in vMix (Mix 1). Today I'm studying to apply this and teach others how to do it, using shortcuts. I created multiview (now in v29 there's quadview), anyway, I still lack this process, but as they said, the channels don't transition between each other in Replay, only in vMix. In the case of EVS, Dynno, 3Play, etc., they are only for this purpose, unlike vMix which is a do-it-all. We continue to believe that it will happen.

Yes, I understand that this feature is currently not supported and that the intended workflow is to switch from one replay mix to another. This approach works fine for standard replay operation. However, when trying to push the Instant Replay system to the next level and reduce unnecessary switching between the A and B channels, it may be worth considering enhancements to the transition behavior—similar to how this functionality is handled in systems such as EVS or GV Dyno.
Otherwise, vMix is a fantastic tool and offers excellent flexibility—especially when it comes to creating multiple playlists, copying and pasting events, renaming them, and working as quickly as possible with replays and sequences. However, when preparing to play out two or three angles using Program/Preview—or, in this case, Mix A and Mix B—it is often much faster to use Swap Channels rather than pressing additional buttons to jump between mixes.
We will still continue to use the Swap Channels function with a CUT transition, as for us it is easier and faster to build a playlist from three or four clips than to operate both Mix A and Mix B. This approach is especially effective for hot replays in sports broadcasts.
If anyone has found a faster or easier way to handle replay mixing, please let me know. I would be happy to hear about any new workflow tips. Thank you.
