Hi There,

Trying to see if someone here have an experience with having the RTX 5080 and DeckLink 8K Pro G2 on the same motherboard.

Did a ChatGpt research - https://chatgpt.com/c/6903d1eb-c110-8327-a93b-97ae42180b13

Usually working with 3 camera - do I have a chance of frames drop?

From your experience What is the best mother board for this purpose?

Thank you.....

Hi,

All motherboards with PCIe cpu lanes on two x8/x8 slots

I understand that but need name of recommended motherboards.
How do you make sure you will not have frame drops if both cards are on the same mother board?
Since the RTX 5080 is huge - will need to check it will not only physically sit next to the DeckLink 8K Pro G2 but also work with Vmix.
Read in a few places it has frames drop.

So from a number of lanes perspective you will be looking at Intel Xeon or AMD Threadripper cpu's and matching boards otherwise the capture card will run on x4 lanes, which may result in frame drops but also random stability issues.

These board support both cards both physically and with a sufficient number of electrically wired slots

Intel
ASUS Pro WS W790E-SAGE SE
Supermicro X13SWA-TF
Gigabyte W790 AI TOP

AMD
ASUS Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE
ASRock TRX50 WS
ASUS Pro WS TRX50-SAGE WIFI
Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D

But, with 3 camera's, I am curious, why such a huge system...?

The RTX 5080's size varies between approximately 2 and 3 slots.

It will fit without any problems on an ATX motherboard without interfering with the DeckLink 8K Pro.

The performance difference between a GPU used in an x16 slot and an x8 slot is minimal.

rtx 4090 x16 and x8.png (167kb) downloaded 9 time(s).

Therefore, follow the Topaz system from vMix for your configuration:

PCIe 1 = RTX 5080 (x8)
PCIe 2 = DeckLink 8K Pro (x8)

Or, if you want the GPU to operate in x16 mode, choose an Intel LGA4677 or AMD TR5 socket as indicated above.
